Quality Manager Railway Sector

Job purpose

Reporting directly to the Chief Engineering Officer, the Quality Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of our Luxury Trains and railway operations, maintenance, and services. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive quality assurance program, continuously improving processes, and maintaining strict compliance with industry standards and regulations assuring also Quality control implementation.

Key responsabilities

Quality Assurance Program Management:

Develop, implement, and maintain a robust quality assurance program for railway operations and maintenance. Define quality standards and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Process improvement

Identify areas for process improvement and optimization, working closely with relevant departments to implement changes that enhance quality and efficiency.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

Stay up-to-date with railway regulations, industry standards, and best practices to ensure compliance. Collaborate with regulatory bodies and authorities to maintain all necessary certifications and approvals.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

• Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential quality and safety issues.
• Implement preventative measures and protocols to reduce risks and accidents.

Quality Inspections and Audits:

Plan and execute regular quality inspections, audits, and reviews of railway operations, facilities, and equipment. Create comprehensive reports and action plans to address identified issues.

Quality control:

Plan, Define and in case execute trough suppliers or directly physical control on product and components according to specifications, norm and technical rule.

Training and Development:

Provide training and guidance to railway personnel on quality assurance processes and procedures.
Foster a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, incidents, and corrective actions.
Prepare and submit reports to senior management and regulatory authorities as required.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality and safety of materials, equipment, and services used in railway operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Engineering, Quality Management, or similar). Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in quality assurance in the railway sector.
• In-depth knowledge of railway safety regulations and industry standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership abilities with a focus on building a quality-conscious culture.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in emergency situations.
